This is my overall evaluation on my own music video. I think that my video did bring across the original interpretation of the storyboards but the stuff that happened during production and the complications during editing the project has only came out at about half the quality I wanted, I actually feel it's a bit pathetic. I made so many stupid basic errors like not focusing the camera and due to my rust to finish overlooked continually, and I am not talking about small things i'm talking about things so obvious that it was almost pointless to do the editing for continulity. on top of that i should have got my cast member to move his mouth a bit more because it moved very little so it's hard to see that he's miming the words. Some complications were not avoidable but it would have been a better project had i avoided the ones that could have been.
I will just have to see my overall grade, and possibly re do the project next year.

Editing Finished
It's the 27th of March 2012. I have finally finished editing my video and am at this minute exporting. Sadly, this video is maimed by several, stupid, avoidable, errors. firstly the lip singing could not be in sinc exactly. if i tried editing several take together it would have been wrecked by jump cuts so the best thing I could do was try to match the lyrics to the miming best as i could. Continuality errors are all over the place, and its basic stuff like glasses and positioning of props that I should, as the director, have seen on set and corrected.
Its been tough to edit, and is nowhere near a masterpeice, thought considering all the complications like lack of reliable cast I think i couldn't have done much more to improve it.

Filming complete!
Yesterday I finished my filming for the music video, Linkin Park- Runaway. I captured a total of 16 minutes and 4 seconds worth of footage over a 6 hour period which took place over 2 days. Thought i am pleased with the filming their were some snags.
Firstly, some of the shots taken in my house had to be off smaller size because i underestimated how much of the room that could be in shot. secondly, and probably the worst was that one of my actors failed to appear in my video due to family problems which is understandable. my big mistake was i didn't find a back up so I had to find someone last minute for the second day of filming. My main actor got a replacement, however his heart wasn't in it and didn't have any kind of enthusiasm. This meant that the parts with the replacement in were very sub standered. Also, the replacement had to go somewhere after a certain point so a few shots were rushed, including the ending! if i got to do this again id make sure I had at least 2 people to be a replacement. because of these errors i dread the editing stage which I will be doing tomorrow.
However, my main actor Darryl was brilliant. he didn't complain when I asked for him to repeat some shots (which in some cases were repeated 6 times) and when I acted out what I wanted him to do before hand, he took it all in and almost mirrored what i did. He was great to work with, helped carry equipment, he even helped direct his friend which he had got to replace Liam. I think if i edit right he should make up for his friends mistakes.

pre production compleation
Since my last post, I have finished all my pre production paperwork including risk assessments, camera plans, shooting order etc. I have done it all on the date that i predicted to have done it all by, and a lot of stress has occurred in making it but now i think it will me more relaxed now that i have completed it, i and just waiting for Jo to sign it off then i can go and film my project.
Further to earlier post, I have had my pre production paperwork signed off. i now need to wait for darryl to finish his lesson at half 12, after witch we can begin filming the first half of the video. tomorrow i'll be getting up bright and early to film the other part of the video.

Music video Presentation
Today I presented my Music video idea to the class. my idea is to do Linkin Parks- Runaway seeing as it has no music video despite it being about 12 years old. I made a big mistake right at the start, because we had to bring in the song for everyone to listen to and I was going to bring in my CD 'Hybrid Theory' which had the song on, but in a stupid early morning state of mind i forgot to bring in that audio.so I had imediately made an error in my presentation. I had to show it through a lyric video on youtube. As far as my presentation went, I beleive it went very well; because I got everything I wanted to say across, and the only thing people had trouble understanding was my synopsis. that was because i put alot of detail in it as well as the visual elements but once i explained it everyone got it.
For improvement I can remember to bring the song in, and also do a few hand gestures and get abit of movement going, because I felt enclosed in my own little space so that needs working on.
Overall I think I gave quite a good presentation because I explained everything on the slides, I took into account the locations, timing etc. and I made sure I was looking towards everyone else at all times, though I did have to glance round to check the power point a couple of times.
